Well, to start off, this image feels a little dark... it's as if there isn't anything white in the picture, making everything feel a little murky. Usually that can be fixed by changing the white balence, if your camera has a setting for that. But the focus and lighting is great here, and the shallow DOF is absolutely SUPERB! Excellent idea too! :)

It's just slightly off focus... The best thing to focus on in this image would probably be the eye. Otherwise, this would be a very good shot.

Very dramatic, interesting shot! I personally would have cropped a tiny bit more off the top, but not too much more. The use of thirds here is very nice, and really adds to the composition.
