I don't quite get what you're going for in this photo. You're making me stop and look at it for a while, trying to figure it out and I think that fundamentally it's not really interesting enough to work (for me). Still it's an interesting choice for an image for the challenge.

Look at those waves and the clouds. I like having the people there to give more context to the beach, both from a narrative point of view and size.

Very HDR looking, I think I would have preferred it a little bit darker. Still it's an extremely striking image and it will definitely do well.

For DPC you probably should have run the image through a noise removing filter and sharpened it a bit more.

The composition is very close to working really well for me but there's something slightly off (to me) I'm not sure exactly what it is though also I do like how the clouds contain the empty sky both from the top and bottom.

The water drops are beautiful but I think the conversion to bw could have been done a bit better. The middle of the flower is a muddy feeling grey which distracts from the overall photo. I'm not sure exactly how to do it better and this is just my opinion.
