portrait1.jpgby Rae-AnnComment: Interesting. I can't say I like this one, but I have looked at it much harder than usual - it is unquestionably a very compelling image. It also made me go to your porttfolio and look at your other self portraits - so I have to say it is a succeseful picture - I think it would make a great album cover or rock and roll poster. |

Day 1by talikfComment: Very nice - I like the crop and the mono - I'm not sure about the grain - I'd like to see a really sharp high contrast version. |

Quentinby MarioAngelComment: Great angle, lovely dof, maybe if he had pushed his glasses down just a fraction it might have removed the reflection ? |

Day 1 - Fadingby bdennyComment: What was said about the light and the white balance is probably true but actually I think it works nicely here - the shot has a nice warm feel to it, and it captures a sweet candid moment. |

Day One - The Drummerby idnicComment: Great low light shot - is it from a stage spot or did you light it ? I'm taking some band shots soon and I'd like some as nice as this. I can't believe nobody has done any "naked percussion damages your bongos/maracas/castanets" jokes so I'll be first. |

Perfume for my friendby akulkarniComment: I won't comment on the photo itself because I don't feel qualified, but as the proud owner of some pretty low scores myself I will say that you have two ways to go. There is a style of photo that does well on dpc, if you want high scores try to find pictures that please dpc people. Alternatively just stick with what pleases you. Or do a bit of both.
I took this for the spinning challenge. I really like it but I knew it would score about 4, so I didn't enter it.
This was in the Fill the Frame challenge. I really like it. So did one or two other people. It scored a 4. I don't care.
I know how painful low scores can be, but keep plugging away. either please yourself or please the crowds, or mix it up and do a bit of both.
Best of luck.

Minimal dogby MelethiaComment: How can this be a 5.6 ??? This is as near a perfect picture as I have seen on DPC. Just wonderful. |
