Perfect Matchby MaryOComment: Love the composition! The little bee is adorable. (love the bees)
The image feels a bit underexposed. I would also dodge the yellows on the bee to make him stand out just a wee bit more.

Squash Blossoms and Thymeby BAMartinComment: Very nice! I love that you found 'unusual' flowers to shoot. They look marvelous with the herbs in the orange bowl. The blown background is acceptable in food shots, you are technically shooting food here, so I don't mind it. ;)
I also found the bamboo interesting. |

day1b.jpgby MaggyeComment: I didn't notice the ant! This crop really draws you in more but I think the top was to close, imo. (that is unusual for me) I love filling the frame but I loved the background on the original. The colors on the flowers have been ramped up and it works! The leaf is no longer grabbing my attention. That darker flower in front is.
Good Job! |

Dahlia-Detailby sfaliceComment: I thought it looked a little oversharpened at first. But then read your comments. I will have to try that myself too.
I would crop off the top to bring your eye into the center more. Lovely light and colors.
I love dahlias, I bet you went click happy in the gardens!
To bad I don't live close, I would love to visit that garden.

ORANGE - Day 1by sherpetComment: I adore the colors here! The spiral from the overlapping petals really brings my eye in a circle. Lovely specimen!

Sugar Thiefby timwest167Comment: You will get points for the cute factor for certain. The DOF is a bit to shallow for my taste on a shot like this. The eyes which is supposed to be the most focus is just on the edge of the blur. (not that anyone could tell.)
The shadows are not harsh, a well executed image. |
