Toward the Withinby LouisComment: The androgynous aspect is intriguing. I especially like your crop/composition, with all the space at the bottom. Nice tones, focus. |

At home with my allergyby PaulComment: Definitely not business-as-usual on DPC. I'm sure this will do well; my only criticism (can't win for trying, can you?) is that it veers into gimmicky territory, so no more than an 8 from me. |

Perfect Dayby Tlee05Comment: Excellent work, at least a 9 from me. Some aspect (color treatment?) reminds me of the photography of Gregory Crewdson. |

Cheetahby sfmorrisComment: As I understood it the challenge was to push boundaries and to aim for a more cutting edge image. This is pretty tame stuff, though a very good photo that might do well in a Free Study challenge. |

As Times Goes Byby bubeltrubelComment: My canned response: whatever one's definition is of fine/contemporary/modern art, I think this entry is too much like business as usual at DPC. In this case: another very pretty flower photo. Good color and clarity, but a calendar image, which is the opposite of what the challenge called for, at least as I understand it. |

As the Ice Meltsby bobnospumComment: I think the point of this challenge was to push boundaries and aim for a more contemporary feel -- to avoid the usual calendar images.
That may not have been clear from the challenge name, though the description pointed to a discussion thread where some of this was hashed out. |

Promiseby DennisheckmanComment: Pretty flower photo, but it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. The point of this challenge (at least as I understood it) was to push some boundaries and to aim for a more cutting edge, contemporary feel -- and to reward something other than the usual ribbon-winning landscapes and calendar images. |
