LIFE-Sphereby Art RoflmaoComment: Sweet. Maybe a chinese take-out soup container would do and would save me 50 dollars. Just need a way to rig it to the light.

He will be a bright skater one day...by sarampoComment: One of my high scorers. Personally I don't think "light graffiti" alone meets the challenge theme well, but when combined with actual graffiti, then it's just awesome. I don't really mind that we can see the painter, but next time dress all in black! |

Golden Gateby ronaldfwComment: That's magical -- portal to another world and all that. Really cool. I can't decide if the graffiti adds or detracts (or maybe it just *is*). |

Home Outgrownby glad2badadComment: Wow, years ago when I was caretaking a country estate, these cocoons were everywhere. Quite creepy, actually. This photo really takes me back. Nice clarity and use of DOF to make the subject stand out. |

Surface Waveby zeuszenComment: I thought this was yours, Zeus, in light of some of your other recent challenge entries. I know abstracts don't please everyone but I'm a bit stymied by your super-low placement. If I can be literal about the image, my first impression was "wave" -- though later I imagined a first-person view from the back of a bird in flight. However, I'm sure you are more concerned with abstract qualities than "puzzle macro" images.
This looks rather like a charcoal illustration, so my only qualm would be that one might think it was a photo of an existing artwork -- something I seem to remember being said about another "controversial" artwork of yours (and an impression I didn't share, btw).
I think it's good for someone like me to know how to take the calendar-type images (before rejecting them), but I hope you keep doing what you are doing! |

Containedby Trumpeteer4Comment: Very cool set up, nice light and colors, and I'm happy to have been one of your high votes. Kudos for originality! It's a bit strange having one piece of fruit out of focus, though it's good that the background is blurred. Nitpicking, I might rotate the photo ever-so-slightly to the left as there seems to be a tilt. I love the look of the jar and what the glass does to the pear inside. |
