Got nuts!?!by PDavisComment: It's a nice enough image but it says momentary pause more than stationary. This image could have a much bigger impact if you could have used advanced editing. 5 |

Drying the Wingsby dahvedComment: I like the saturation of the green and the placement of the transition between the water and the land. The pipe isn't the most attractive thing for the bird to be resting on and the out streach of the wings conveys less about stationary than if the bird were completely at rest. It's also a pity that the bird isn't in profile. All in all the image is of good quality but the positioning of the bird and its selection of a perch work against you. |

See Spot Stayby aberrationComment: Bump to a 6 on my revisit. The dog is definitly pointing at something and has frozen dead still. If the focus was on the front portion of the dog with shallower depth of field, it would help the dog become the main focus point of the image instead a co-subject with the girl. |

Ordinary Lifeby eggfoxComment: The selective desaturation makes the color of the bridge look un-natural. 5 |

Unmovedby ValdoComment: Yes a statue is stationary and the exposure is exceptional; however, the sign in the background takes away any feeling this image conveys about being stationary. The flow of the lines on the sign indicates places you can go and thus, motion. |

24/7 and stopped thoughby magrolinoComment: This competition is steep in this challenge and I suspect it will pull your score down just a bit. I like the use of the red light to convey stationary, as it is the universal signal for stop. The 24 sign is a bit too prominent in this image for my tastes and really doesn't add to the challenge subject. The exposure is well done the background color is nicely saturated. |

Treesby operalynnComment: There are too many things that draw my eyes away from the main subject, the trees. Things like the pathway and the animal/statue in the background. Part of that is due to the lighting and part to the uniform color of the trees. If you cropped off the left half of the picture and converted this to black and white with high contrast, the light that is actually on the top of the tree limbs would become the focal point and allow the trees to become the main subject. |
