Back to comment: This image also looks a bit out of focus. You may want to sharpen more after down sizing an image for a challenge. Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing.

Back to comment: An interesting take on the challenge, shooting nature against an urban background. However, the lighting on the flowers is really not that good, as the flowers tend to blend into the background. Even if the flowers would have been shot during a different time a day with better light, the subject you choose still would not have scored very well at DPC for it is not all that interesting in itself.

Back to comment: You found some nice fall colors to shoot; however, the subject matter is not very captivating to look at. The power lines and the dead tree up front distract from the appearance of the colors and are not pleasant to look at. This image also looks a bit out of focus. You may want to sharpen more after down sizing an image for a challenge. Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing.

Back to comment: This image is much smaller than what is allowed for a challenge. The longest side of your image should be 640 pixels. When your image is this small, it is hard to see the details and judge the quality of the image. Because of that, many people will give a low vote and move on without really looking. I like the scene you choose but would have like to have seen all of the tree on the right side of the image to help balance the composition.

Back to comment: This image appears to not be sharply in focus. You need to sharpen more after down sizing for the challenge. Most people use Unsharp Mask to bring back the sharpness lost because of down sizing. I also think this image would have been better if you would have taken it when the sun was lower. This would have allowed more detail in the bridge to show and made the sky less harsh to look at.

Back to comment: You have what looks like a nice landscape image. However, it needs to be in PORTRAIT orientation to meet the challenge.

Back to comment: The post processing of this looks very harsh. It appears to have too much contrast and might be over saturated. However, some of this may be related to the file size of your image, as DPC allows a file size of 150 Kb and you only used 70 Kb. The less you compress your image (the larger file size), the better the detail visible in the image. I also find the out of focus waves towards the front of the image to be distracting (unappealing). This could be related to not using a small aperture (large number) or from not sharpening enough after down sizing your image.

Back to comment: This image suffers from a lack of a main subject for the viewer to focus on. There is really nothing here to look at beside the tree branches and the wire. The sky has some color to it but nothing else to hold the viewer's attention.

Back to comment: A lovely girl but sorry but this is more of a candid photo than a portrait in my opinion. As for the image itself, the focus around the girl's eyes appears to be a little soft. Did you remember to sharpen the image after downsizing for the challenge? The image also appears to be a little flat looking (washed out). Maybe a little tweaking with curves or levels in posting processing would help.
