Sunset Light

Sunset Light

Comment:
The color of the sunset is good, although I think there is a little too much tree on the left that masks the sunset. I would have liked to have seen a little more sky. The image also seems a little out of focus, possibly due to camera shake. In low light conditions it's best to use a tripod, assuming you didnt.

I've seen some really interesting photographs done with a laer/light pen, but I think in this instance the subject doesnt really work well. On my monitor the background still shows up as a very faint image, and there are quite a number of stray red dots floating around too. The idea was good, the execution not bad, the subject matter probably not the best.

Comment:
The candle seems very over exposed and the rose appears pixelated. It almost looks like photoshop effects have been added to it. Compositionally it is fine, and the folds in the fabric are a nice touch.

Comment:
This is quite a wonderfully peaceful shot, and the colors also make it interesting. The gradient sky is wonderful, meeting the ocean with a sort of misty feel. I'm also a sucker for silhouettes, and the woodland foreground is nicely sharp and detailed even though it is a silhouette. The contrast between foreground and background almost looks unreal.

This has a nice moody feel to it. Perhaps the only suggestion would be to crop the bushes on the left, but then you would lose some of the light so probably better this way. I also like the toning. It looks almost supernatural.

I really like the tone and mood of this. It's not the clearest or sharpest pic out there, but I dont think it needs to be. Contrasts are good, visually it's like a glimpse into a dream. I like it!

This certainly has a interesting visual/mood. I'm not sure what the building is, but it looks like there is a fire inside and the streaks are sparks and smoke. The orange inside the building are warm and appealing and sets the tone of the shot. The 'halo-like' effect of the smoke makes it almost supernatural. I think the composition could have probably been improved slightly, although not sure how and this may have been the best angle, I dont really know. I'm not sure if you did the angle to get the sun/moon in just that spot or to try and hide it. Either way it has a good feel to it, certainly captured a mood.

The composition is great, and I like how you left 'cino' in. I think the coffee-colored writing really adds something to the image instead of just a plain mug/cup. The use of dof is excellent, the lighting is wonderful, the image has great sharpness where it needs to be. I could without doubt see this in a cookery book, on packaging, advertising, or a number of other places. Very well done.

They may be dog biscuits/cookies but they sure look good. The texture is great, the lighting great as I dont see any harsh shadows, the contrasting color tones appealing. I'm also glad you decided to do a close-up of these. I'm certainly interested in reading the recipe when the challenge is finished. Different and well shot, I like it!

Fast and Easy Tex Mex Dip

Comment:
The presentation is good, albeit fairly standard, and the dish itself looks quite tasty. I like that the accompanying dishes also seem to match the theme. The only change I could possibly see would be to change the lighting a little more to enhance a mood. This seems to have a very even light.
