The Blue Dragon

The duotone is interesting but you usually see these chinese dragons in a lot of very vibrant colors. It looks like it has either camera shake blur or motion blur, but that could work to denote motion of the dragon as it moves toward the viewer. It fills the frame, which is a good thing.

This has great energy! The exposure on the snow is good, and you even captured those tiny sparkles of fresh snow. It's a good motion capture with no blur, although the head could have been just a tad sharper. Compositionally he's dead center, but I think having him bound toward the viewer gives it the dynamic of a dog rushing to meet his owner.

It's a clear shot, good details (which is hard in a darker dog), good lighting with no obvious shadows, and the background is non-distracting. I'm leaning towards disliking the collar. I think having it not there at all, or backing up a little and showing the entire collar may have been better.

Without the background this would have probably been an ok cuddly toy shot, but I think with the background it actually works. It's cute, composition is good, and it has more relevancy. Good use of dof, lighting/exposure is good, and the monkey is sharp. Fun shot!

Very cute, has a wonderful soft look, the expression is cute, almost like he's wondering what's happening to him/her. I like the position of the crate too, gives the image a little more depth and interest.

This is cute, I like it. The black and white is a good choice to give it a nice even feel, and also a harsher/docu-photograph feel. The composition is good with the slight V. It's full of personality.

Double Take

The quality of this shot is not the best. It's slightly blurry, and I wonder if this was taken in a speeding car. The sign has humor value, but the background is too distracting and 'close' to the sign. Compositionally it's fine.

2 in 1

The sign is very clear, vibrant, and straight! The dof is excellent to isolate the sign, yet have some context in the background without being too distracting. The second sign compliments the first well and it gives a great depth to the image.

"NO SHOOTING AREA"

It's the back of the sign so I'm assuming it isnt an actual no shooting area sign and the title is just there for the humor. That said it's an interesting shot. The background of the blue skies and the mountains is great, and I like the foreground of the road, although it's a tad dark. That one star-shaped light coming through the hole also adds interest. Unfortunately the perspective of the sign makes it look tilted, which is slightly offputting. Overall it's a good shot.

A sign to slow down

A slight step to your left and a step back so that the cross was full in the frame and could be read a tad more easier would have improved this a little more, I think. It's an interesting shot, certainly makes one think while viewing it. The black and white was a good choice to make it seem somewhat harsher. An unfortunate photo opportunity, but a good message to send.
