Apt title! Good detail on the whites and the picture is sharp. I would've preferred some more negative space on the right and bottom so that the bird looks at a point inside the picture. My top 10 for this challenge.

Very neat! The eyes give it a scared or surprised look. The bokeh serves well to keep the stag in limelight, and the light itself is nice, warm and pleasing. The crop has a good balance to it too. My top 10.

Wow! An amazing shot! I know how hard it is to freeze a humming bird's wings - haven't managed it yet. Perfect stop action and I can't imagine how you got the humming bird to face you! The bokeh is pleasing and the colors are fabulous. My pick for blue. Even in a free study this shot would do very well. Not a fan of the border though.

lol - you're right. I remember thinking the soldier/horse combo and the perspective is similar during the voting. Didn't realize it was with an A700 as well :) Congrats on yet another ribbon.
Very cool username btw - I'll get there soon and will find out if it's true :)
And thanks for your pointer about recovering images from the CF after they're deleted. I now have the software required - should I need it in the future.

Congrats on the top 10. I believe this shot should've placed higher than it did. The picture is wonderfully balanced with the bridge support on the left and the rocks on the right. And the bridge itself seems to go on forever. The cloudy sky sets a wonderful mood (not too menacing like the other pic :). My only nit is that the horizon is neither centered nor at 1/3, so it's noticeable and feels weird scanning the pic from top to bottom. Very well done.

Nice title - that's what it looked like from the thumbnail :)
The background beyond the bridge is a little distracting, so upside down (a cool idea!) works well in toning down that distraction and getting us to see the pleasing water reflection/tones first. Nicely done.

Nice shot of an interesting subject and a good B/W conversion.

It would've been good if there were some modern/tech elements in the picture. As it stands, there's nothing in the pic that says "Bridging Science and Religion". However, the walkway sure does look like a literal bridge, so it definitely meets the challenge even if the subject of the pic were not a bridge.

My top 10 for this challenge - hope you don't get too many DNMC votes.

If this was shot on Oct.9 (Saturday) night, then we probably met - I was there too, and got a tip from someone (you?) about climbing the hill on the side of the road. Ultimately I ended up not using this same shot, but it's a very cool shot nonetheless. Great downtown and some interest in the sky as well. My top 10 for this challenge.

No kidding! That sky looks like it's already angry and pouring down a lot - hope you didn't get wet trying to get the shot. That bridge seems super long from this perspective and doesn't seem to lead anywhere :) Very nice composition and pleasing lines all around. I wish the nice still reflection weren't chopped off so abruptly (no reflection at all would've been fine I think, so a crop off the bottom might work better).

I would've liked to see the reflections some more - right now they are cut off mid-way and are distracting some what. But I understand that if you go wider, the bridge itself diminishes in the pic, so maybe you did the right thing.
