I see what you were trying to go for here, but in my opinion, the cropping just looks way off and odd. The singer is just too far from the lights for the two subjects to be 'connected'.

I actually enjoy the overblown areas of this image because it makes the image look surreal and dream-like.

The flowing water is gorgeous and the perspective is very nice. I like the way the whole image seems framed by the logs/roots? at the bottom.
I think your downfall here is the fact that the overall image could have some more clarity and sharpness, and a lot of voters will compare this image to this one: [thumb]970551[/thumb] (I hope that shows up since that picture is in voting right now as well) and by doing so, yours will lack that dramatic, oomph factor.

ETA: It seems like the image doesn't show... it's the one named "Forest Water" in this months Free Study challenge as well.

I am being nitpicky, but her nail color bothers me. I would've preffered for the nails to be the purple color of her outfit.

The single light source definitely adds a mood to the situation and makes the feelings of the image stand out. It seems to be that there are too many gray tones in the image and wish for a contrast bump.
