Headin' East....by NikonJebComment: While very dramatic, this doesn't tell me much about the subjects in the foreground because it is so dark. Another option would have been to wait until the sun is just setting or has set completely (we already know what the sun looks like) to reduce the brightness and give more detail in the foreground. |

Rising on the End of Winterby giantmikeComment: Nicely composed, though I would have liked the sun a little further from the edge of the photo. Walking to your right a bit would have placed the sun behind the tree, which might have created an interesting texture with the branches, as well as blocking some of the brightness from the sun thereby giving you more detail in the foreground, and more middle greys in the grass. On the other hand, that might have compromised the road placement. Tough choices we photogs must make. |

Dividedby NeatComment: A photo this dark tells me you really didn't have a subject to show us. |

Nahoonby SunriseOnSeaComment: Interesting subject. I might have left out the water in the foreground; perhaps cropped in the middle of the beach, which certainly would have begged the question. |

Sunsetby thesaint77shComment: Your idea of balance is interesting. Perhaps a landscape format would have served this better. |

The Steepleby bohemkaComment: Interesting composition, though the square crop doesn't work for me. A little less foreground would have improved this IMO. |
