I suspect this was one of the games my son used to play with his cousins and at the pizza parlor. That would have been late 80's and early 90's.

My guess is artillery from WWII or even earlier - probably off a Naval ship. There may be some information on that plaque next to the bench.

Having grown up in a deeply religious atmosphere, and having made the decision much earlier in my life that that doesn't work for me (I now have a different concept) my first reaction to this photo is leave that poor man alone. However!!!!! I do involve myself in charity work, and I know from experience that people do want others to pray for them and they take great comfort knowing that others care enough to reach out. With that disclaimer, Sandy, I can honestly say that this is one of the most moving photos I've seen recently and I'm glad you shared it.
