Very nice composition. I like the way the feather almost disappears into the background,but not quite. I'm also tempted to grab the pen and use the backdrop as paper to write on. Also, the beautiful reflection in the ink well adds depth (both physical and tonal) to an otherwise rather flat photo. Very simple and successful.

This has a real painterly quality to it. I'd really like to know how you achieved that. And, I'm wondering why you didn't remove the object in the lower right hand corner. It is just a little distracting. I think the wide border works very well. 8
