Great contrast and impact in this low-key shot with the brightly colored orange/yellow flame and the way the light is captured and reflected by the stripes in the balloon. The silhouetted balloons in the background are really good and give depth to the picture. Good job. 8

Love the nostalgic look at a small town gas station (from the southwest?). I especially like the mottled lighting, although some of it looks to have been manipulated in ps. This image has an almost surreal quality to it, as though what I'm looking at is a model, rather than a real place (maybe because the clutter in the scene is so well organized and because of the wide angle giving it a distant appearance?) In any case, well done. 7

The Splash of a Kiwi

This looks more like a lifting up out of the water than a splash downward, but still an awesome picture. Really like the contrast in the water and the golden color (albeit a bit unnatural looking) of the kiwi. Good choice of blurred green background, although the blue in the lower left looks a bit out of place. Well done. 8

This is certainly a masterful job of capturing/emphasizing/manipulating light ! Color and tone are equisite and you've captured a wonderfully tender and intimate moment. Only problem I see with this image is that the hands are cut off, right one in darkness and left one by crop. Still, an excellent picture. 9
