Very low contrast in this image. It is worth trying levels and mid tone curves adjustments to see if you can bring out better contrast without sacrificing tonality. Tough to do with some black and white images but probably would work very well with this one.

Congrats on another great score and placing with a typical Oregon springtime scene. After processing the clouds to make them more dramatic something you can do to fix the remaining blown out areas like you have in the middle right of the frame is to lightly clone at about 20-40% from another non-descript area of the sky. It is amazing how well it takes care of blown out sky and blends in well. Try it, you'll like it. ;)

Beautifully done sepia. It was close but yours could just as easily got the ribbon over the B&W in 3rd. Both are incredible and technically superior images.

Wow... what a spectacular image. The technical quality is incredible. The brown tones and muted green with the highlighting and the dramatic sky creates a great composition.

You are a master of portraiture. Your command of lighting, especially in one as difficult to light as this, is nothing less than astounding. Your strict attention to technical excellance is the strength of this composition. Like in this case, what you put into your portraits is often so subtle, so good, and yet so natural that DPC voters often overlook it. We are just not that sophisticated. We often look for funk and flash. ;)

Congratulations on getting a ribbon with this image. Lighting and skin tonality are near technical perfection and the crop highlighting her eyes makes this a very, very strong composition. Super portrait! Well deserved ribbon.

This is one of the very few images I scored lower than the group. I only gave it a 6. I review images scored lower than the group to see what I overlooked and most of the time the group is right.

Image composition here is fantastic, especially with the hair and reflection. Lighting and color are basically good. But a couple technical issues were bothersome. The whiteness of the eyes seems unnatural. Focus on your model is in that never, never land where it is not soft enough to be considered artistically soft focused but not quite sharp enough to be considered in best focus. The ear ring draws strong attention to this fact. The reflection in the mirror (a very nice touch I might add) appears to be in better focus than your model. That should be the other way around.

Fine image, good capture, because of the blur you might consider criopping off the whole finger on the far right side from the composition.
