Profileby fotodudeComment: Nice owl profile. The dark background makes the profile stand out well. Good brown tones and overall capture.
Unsure if this image is to imply that stdavidson is wise since everyone knows by now that anyone dumb enough to get lost in the desert has to be a few boulders short of a complete rock outcrop, if you get my drift. :)
During my desert trek I did see one owl and heard many others in the night. Arizona has lots of owls, some big and some small. The tiny Elf Owl makes its home in the giant suguaro cactus. - Steve |

Now which direction did he go?by marvinComment: Good question... I still haven't figured out where I went. One thing certain, the roads were not that nice. :) You got decent tones in your B&W capture. - Steve |

At One With Natureby alanfreedComment: Good wide-angled image. You capture the expanse of sunflowers well and also get the near ones large in the frame and tack sharp. The sunflower with the ghost image is a little scary though. :) We had a spectacular wildflower season a couple years ago in Arizona and I was very disappointed in that I did not capture the immensity of it well. You did a great job here. You are right, I was "At one with Nature" but now I think I need to be "At one with Civilization" for a while. ;) - Steve |

Searching the Superstition Mountains by cutlassdude70Comment: Good silhouette and the blue and gold colors are spectacular. This is my kind of imagery.
This picture is very revealing. You can plainly see that I was so lost that I did not even know which way to point a camera anymore, even if I'd had one. One of the unfortunate aspects of the whole experience is I did not even get a single picture to show from it. It is good there were no pictures of me, though. I looked frightful, probably 30 years older and felt like an old weatherworn prospector. - Steve |

Watching the Sun Bakeby dahkotaComment: Now THAT is where I really would rather have been. Nice B&W. Nice soft grass, a tree truck without thorns to lean on, a reasonable temperature and plenty of shade to choose from. Add a couple beers and it would be perfect. ;) - Steve |

"He should have been here by now"by GinaRothfelsComment: Interesting interpretation of the challenge topic. Can't say they all look enthusiastic about searching for stdavidson, but it works.
Wished I'd have went up and talked to a few people when I was missing. That could have saved folks a lot of time, effort and worry. - Steve |

South of Eden, of course!by hahn23Comment: Nice, majestic portrait oriented landscape. This image reminds me of a favorite hiking place in Oregon for both my son and myself. This looks like our view of Moraine Lake from a mountain called South Sister near Bend, Oregon USA. I was communing with nature in my absence in an equally spectacular area albeit of a much different environment. Beautiful picture. Looks like a fantatic place to hike. - Steve |

Steve who ?by gocComment: Nicely capture! The soft green background is very nice. It is of interest to note that Arizona is a mecca of riparian activity. It has an incredible variety birds. They are everywhere. For example, few people know that Arizona is the hummingbird capital of the USA with 15 varieties. While I was missing birds were my constant companions. - Steve |

For your consideration!by graphicfunkComment: Curious composition. This is certainly a different interpretation of the challenge theme. I might as well have been hibernating a giant egg. I see I'm incubating a new canon to replace the the old Sony F717 I used to have. ;) - Steve |
