April Showers - New Season of Lifeby enashComment: The green's over-edited. It looks more like a disease than fresh turf. Tough call, because fresh spring stuff really does look as though it's glowing sometimes, but I say this one didn't make it, sorry. Good lines. |

Brand New Saddleby RistyzComment: There's too much exciting stuff going on that leads the eye away from the saddle, I think. That's mostly about the relevance of the title though. Great advert for rodeo aesthetics. |

Best Budsby TranquilComment: Cliché like nobody's business, but a cracking sharp image and great colours. Sort of new, I guess. |

The Old Make Room for the Newby ghcstrComment: Indeed it does. Needs just a little more depth of field on the flower and the two ends of this picture could just be lopped off. There's quite a nice idea with the thrusting new bloom, but I don't think this picture succeeds in graphically supporting the text of the title. |

New Maple Leavesby ladpupmoeComment: Pretty dynamic. The leaves are only new because you say so though. Too much dead space. Plusses for the image, minuses for the relevance to context. |

Phototropismby RgarciaComment: New? jada jada. But what a beautiful image. Maybe you could have cropped and tilted a bit so you didn't have quite so much dead space up to the right there, but trust old mother nature for some powerful forms. |

Sexyby LERtasticComment: Title's way off. Looks pretty new though. Well set up, clean image of a mundane object. |

Renaissancesqueby arminComment: Very well done. Beautiful lighting arrangement and all the rest to get a Dutch master effect. As a portrait, maybe all the other stuff that's going on in the picture detracts from the subject and the handling and presentation of her. Either way it's a lovely picture and superbly done. |

Lisaby NodeComment: Photography is many things, maybe, but a portrait's a portrait and this one is most remarkable for the way in which the camera and the subject seem to have come to an agreement - made a deal - and it's a good one. |
