Red Admirals fly all the way up to Iceland? Beautiful shot. Maybe could do with a little more at the top and a little less at the bottom, but the atmosphere is breathtaking.

Too dark to be the result of an unweighted 18% grey metering, maybe.

I find this a very useful indicator that a picture may bring its own set of norms to its exposition, or define its own parameters. Maybe that's a sign that a picture has established itself as a picture and is no longer a work in progress.

Then again, I could be very wrong about all that, but thanks for the invocation of thoughts about it.

I think I'd have cropped a little more harshly top and left - the wall up there is negative space. What with that being an important part of the composition, it's a bit hard to tell. I'm giving it ten anyway.

And it is the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and all the bricks were transported by the waterway that it crosses, which is odd, as there's precious little waterway left there now.
