The Artisan by gyabanComment: 570 layers
Blimey
Not superfluously conjugated, superfluously inflected although both instances succeeded in communicating that which was intended.
Hand painting.
Congratulations on the (increasingly) widespread recognition, Christophe. Keep on keeping on.
Like the notes, too. How much are tools replacing hands? How much of our brains is falling into disuse as we move away from being the artisan ape?
And so on. |

Try breaking in next door, if you please.by herfotomanComment: Once again the quality hapens at both ends of the spectrum -
you get a sort of half a brown because you need to share it with the butt-crack next door -
Well earned - this one broke out of the box and flew |

Overdraftby Bear_MusicComment: Middle of the pack on your own challenge? You could be forgiven for an equivocal reaction to that.
I noticed that the top pictures were good (duh) but might have been at the top of any other challenge, whereas the bottom 10 or so contained some seriously good gear. It's not unusual, but it seems to stand out a little for this challenge.
So here's why this face in the middle of the crowd deserves to be picked out:
The picture in its original(?) vertical format is technically good and of general high quality in keeping with what we have come to expect from the House of Bear. It is also very obviously a vertical composition. Turned on its side, all the elements become abstract and the composition is perfect, thus slam dunking the horiverzontical concept ball.
After a week of discussion and another week of voting the challenge them is finally explained. Thank you. |
