Groton Shorelineby brownsmComment: When I line up the picture with a scrollbar or something, I can see the horizon is straight, but it looks like it's tilted to the left. I really like how you got the star flares from the lights, and the bit of reflection in the water. This probably would have done very well in the Urban challenge. |

Why there are traffic jamsby okiesisiComment: This shot doesn't give me the sense of "landscape," either on the normal or macro level. It's a good quick capture, given your conditions. There seems to be more of the scene to the right, and including it might have given more of a story to the flipped minivan. The people are backlit, so you kinda lose on getting good detail in their faces, and your camera bumped up the exposure to get the scene but by doing so it let the sky get overexposed. |

As The Fog Liftsby BrianRComment: The brick path leads me into the picture, but then I get stuck about 1/3 the way in. The contrast between the tree in the foreground and the distant bridge and stoplights was nicely captured. |

Les Toilettes - Urban Ubiquityby PhotologistComment: A tighter crop or wider DOF would have really helped this shot. The outhouse on the far right is "too close," and nobody wants to be "too close" to one of those. You can almost smell it through the screen. On the other side, the tree trunk just poking in like that is distracting. Since it does give a shadow on the back side, you might have included more of the trunk in the shot. |

The 'burbsby MelethiaComment: The low dust cloud and slight ridge between the town and the power grid really add to their sense of motion. I really liked this shot. You might have cropped the power lines on the right, and brought the left side in a bit to keep the rest balanced. |

urban reflectionsby griz210Comment: My main issue with this shot is you have too much sidewalk, which isn't part of your subject (like the reflections) or providing contextual contrast (like the shrubs). The neon inside disrupts your reflections. Next time tell the manager not to be so rude and turn off the sign while you're taking pictures. |

Untitledby jaysonmcComment: Great depth, sky, and distant cranes walking in the water. Visually, you have a good sequence of light-dark-light. A slightly narrow crop, maybe coupled with a little less on the top and bottom, might have helped the cranes look more a part of the subject, and pushed your score into 6-land. |

Distant Cloudsby JuliBocComment: This image looks a little squished to me. There's strong lines headed off to the right, but a lot of empty space in the top half of the picture. You got a pretty good reflection, but otherwise the lighting is fairly harsh. The contrast on the boat makes it look like it shouldn't be part of the subject. Compositionally, the little pier poking in the corner, where the boat itself it cut off, gives a cluttered look to an already detailed image. |
