Nice dark image. Focus, contrast, and composition dominate the photo. The width implies motion away from the lens. Good choice to not have a thick border on the sides as well.

Nice lighting and colors. They work with the composition and the clouds to create some drama.
The lens cap and "woody" arent' as sharp as I would have hoped for. Also, there is some noise in the background (particulary in the blue).

Overall, a very nice shot though.

I want to rate you low just because you have a lens like that and I don't.

I like the composition, the lighting, DOF, and sense of "blowing in the wind". I even like the layers of colors and light in the background, and typically that bugs me. I like the warm light on the lens an lens cap and cool sky and mountain in the background.

Nice dark, dramatic shot. I like the inclusion of water. I'm guessing that there was some rotation because I get a little dizzy if I look too closely for too long.

Great lighting and capture of the instant. The water almost looks like shattering glass.

Strong, dramatic image. Sharpness and extremely limited DOF. I hope to find out what kind of focal length and aperature you used. The contrast is blistering. My favorite of the bunch.

It is a good idea, as you can see by the other pirate shots.
For a plain background, it is too much of the picture. I think that chopping the top 1/3 off would be an improvement.
The lighting on the face is okay but the rest of it is flat. You also get an unfortunate shadow from her chin. Artificial lighting is a mystery to me and so I use almost entirely natural light (my unsolicited admission).
IMO, the lens cap is too big for the model's face. Also, I may be missing the purpose, but I don't know why she appears to be topless.

This is my favorite of the two. Yours captured the drama of the scene better than the other.
The noise suggests that you actually did take a picture.
