Unexpected... photo op
by bigwigratm

Comment:
Unexpected phot op is right, and a great capture. The people are in close contact and draw the viewer into the pic. The Hope in lights brings out the reason for their closeness. I was gonna argue with the crop, but on 2nd thought, if you cropped out some of the height, the effect would be lost. I don't give very many 10s. Congratulations

Usually I say fill the frame, but in this case, I'd say back off a bit and include more background. You're trying to show this near antique in the loft of a barn. Including more background will give more feel to it. Maybe some sunbeams with dust floating, give it try and post the result.

Amazing yes, but why don't we see the whole creature? Good use of composition putting the caterpillar on the diagonal, but I'd like to see the whole caterpillar.

Nice Landscape, but I think I might have tried to lighten the shadow just a little more.

I'm gonna score you higher just because of a unique approach to the challenge. Great whimsey. I think I might have taken the pic from a lower angle, so the duck's head was visible over the top of the bowl.

Nice capture, I think a little less of the high falls would draw more attention to the couple at the bottom.

Kinda gross, but interesting. I'd like to be able to see the entire fish in the composition

I know the focus of your image is the goosling under the wings of the parent. Good capture on that, but I would have composed in more a portrait orientation to include the parents head also. Looks kinda incomplete as is.

Excellent silhouette, but I think a closer crop would be better. (I know, this is a basic editing challenge, unfortunately, that prevents you from replacing the sky also). Still a nice shot.
