The biggest problem I see is the building on the left and the white line (road?) right through the middle. Crop out the building and drop the top down to the top of the pole on the right and it'll be a much stronger composition (darken that line some too would help too)

I think this would have been stronger if it had been stopped down for more DOF. It's not like trying to isolate a single flower form a background. This is more like showing how a part is related to the whole. Good concept, lighting and tonality though.
