Love the composition. Good take on the challenge to use a bunch of black but still have some punch with a lovely, saturated color. the tiny water drops on the petals are a nice touch, also. 8

The problem with photographing a number is that I suspect people might subliminally vote "5"... I almost just did, maybe because I haven't had my coffee yet today. :) Nice details, focus, composition and dramatic lighting. 7

Black Olives (mostly)

Composition is good - love the placement of the green olive, and it fits the challenge well, but the focus needs to be sharper to really make this "pop".

Cork Screw

Excellent shot - great composition and tonal range. I sort of wish that the corkscrew came to a very sharp point that was highlighted by the depth of field - it appears to be a bit blunt, but overall very creative composition and perfect exposure.

Pinecone's

Lovely capture of texture, very crisp, and the background colors are beautiful and complimentary. The out of focus pine cone in front bothers me a little - maybe if the photo were cropped so only half of it were there it might not be so distracting. Overall a nice shot, though, and fits the theme of the challenge very well.

your eyes only

Rose Dew 2

Wow - I see this doing very well in the challenge. Water drops are always so amazing for the eye to see when captured this clearly, and the waves of red in the background formed by the rose are a perfect balance to the composition. Well-composed, exposed and overall executed. Would make a fantastic greeting card. 10

Circles

Very interesting abstract image. Good, creative use of depth of field to bring a feeling of chaos and a busy feeling to the photograph. Would work well as a background in the land of stock photography. 8

Fish

Beautiful shot. I've always wanted to try something like this - you've done it very well. The yellows are a bit saturated and you've lost some detail in your main fish due to that, but overall very nice. The background pattern made by the out of focus fish is just beautiful.
