Crane Reflectionsby dsidwellComment: Beautiful and creative. One of the better shots I've seen so far in the challenge. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the color cast. 8 |

metallurgical engineering at nightby ursulaComment: Holy cow - we've got a winner! Beautiful image. I'm a huge fan of industrial night shots. This conveys all kinds of motion in that flowing steam and is absolutely beautiful to look at. 10 |

TO THE RIGHTby Rando D300Comment: Extremely well composed. Although there are all kinds of elements working in this photograph, you've found a way to quiet them down by using a nice wide angle and lots of the pavement, as well as the lines formed by the lights to help contribute to the "silence" of the image. Nice work. |

The Libraryby flip89Comment: Very creative composition. I love the solitude you've captured by having a lone figure on the right, balanced by the bookshelves on the left. Normally, the chunk of wall in the middle would be a little too weird, but the fact that the sunlight cuts across and joins it to the right side of the frame makes it all work very well together. Great work - don't be surprised or too disappointed if a lot of people here don't "get" it, though. It's very artistic and the voting public doesn't always consider the concepts of composition and art as much as they look for a "wow" factor. 9 |

Quiet Pleaseby justineComment: Nice composition, defintely conveys the feeling of silence - the museum type. I sort of wish for an ornate bench of some sort of red hued wood to compliment the reds in the artwork on the wall, but I assume this was taken in a public place as you found it and changing the furniture arrangement was not an option. :) Good capture. |

After the Funeral...by seancgn68Comment: Nice composition - I like the idea that the main figure is almost something you notice after looking for a while. Emphasizes the feeling of silence and aloneness in the large house. A much wider-angle lens would have intensified the feeling even more - possibly hard to do, depending on your camera. |

Silent Waitingby luckycharmsrockComment: Absolutely beautiful photograph. The windowlight really adds a feeling of calmness, and I really think that the grain adds to the image. This looks like a professional shot out of a fashion magazine. Hope you don't get marked down for the grain. The best shot I've seen so far. 10 |

Peace & Quietby thebone123Comment: Good shot - your model has a great look on his face and when you realize the headset is unplugged you're hit with "hey! what a great take on the challenge!" Nice composition, too - I could have done without the bottom of the lamp in the shot that is sitting on the table, but overall I like this one! |

Midnightby MJENNIComment: I really like this image overall. It fits the challenge well, and the bicycle covered in snow is a very pretty and interesting subject. I am, however, distracted by the oversaturated blues. I think the blue tone adds to the image and overall I like it, but the spots on the fence and a couple of small spots on the bike are so blue that they've lost and detail or texture that might have been there. Great composition, though - I love the panoramic crop. |

Time Outby elsapoComment: I wish the image was larger so I could see more detail. I'm confused about what is on the ground, and all of the lines from the sticks and bushes add to the confused feeling a bit. However, the main composition is good with the large tree and the ladder making a nice dynamic composition that keeps the eye in the frame. |
