one good ladyby jmritzComment: An amazing capture, a complete panorama of the elderly. That single, small, fading ray of sunlight is something we all will eventually face. Most of us will not be this graceful. |

Playgroundby zeuszenComment: Another intriguing find.
A playground where, on a hot summer day, children fry their hands on the stainless steel bars and then fall onto the sharp gravel bed below. I almost expect to see a sign warning children "Danger Keep Out".
Your portfolio "objects" photos always seem to sneak up on me and suddenly reveal something interesting about the personality of the object's creator. I don't know if this "playground" creator was a designer or a sculptor, either scenario is strange. I prefer this was intended to be a real playground because it then goes beyond strange and becomes bizarre.
In any case, the creator of this object would be pleased with your clever use of specular highlights (in triplets) to de-emphasize anything that might be associated with "play" and to sterilize an already antiseptic playground. Message edited by author 2009-01-03 11:20:53. |

So Blueby tangueraComment: I love mannequins, they mimic the best attributes of (most) models, without the overhead. This model mannequin looks more introspective than sad to me, however, your placement of shadows does a great job of supplying the emotion. I like the positioning of the mannequin in the frame - as if she is getting up to leave. Maybe she really is a model after all?
I think you choose the right photo for the specific challenge, this would have garnered some interesting comments but would have scored rather low. Keep up the good work, DPC needs more artists. |
