Great emphasis using DOF, and this one has eyes, not like the out-takes.
A nice Christmas present for you, too!

I'm sure many married (or not) couples have done this classic idea of putting ribbons and bows on Him or Her. When I saw it was going to get a ribbon. Personally, I also like some of the adult female Elves I sometimes see with Santas, wearing red and green tights.

That's agreat pose, the winding ribbon reminds me of a sweet, Candy Cane!
Also balanced symetrically, elbow/heel on one side hair/knee on the other.

To answer Ambaker's question.
I guess he used the flash to fill the darkness. There had to be at least starlight for backlighting. The fill flash just overfilled the ambient back lighting. It is a great picture, it only needs to be percieved as fill-flash in some way, by the mojority of voters.

This would be great as an ilustration for some young childresn's books.

Beautiful blue eyes, blond and subtle pink lips, a winning combination. The soft focus emphasizes and contrasts the sharp eyes.

The bottom half could be a partial picture pressed against a sheet of glass with a live cat peering through, that would be more like a photograph.

You are now the Birdman of Vermont, 2-FS! The sharpness is emphasized well by the blurred background.

With a face like that you should be in politics. If you had three you could've juggled them.
