Freedomby slimComment: I like the use of negative space, but for this shot, I don't think the tree is necessary to add perspective. Probably wasn't possible, but a little more zoom (while still keeping both planes in the shot) could add to this. Nice catch with them both parting the cloud |

Narrow Guageby vtruanComment: Nice subject - if I had time I would've stopped by the East Broad Top (narrow gauge) lines in PA. I'm guessing that this isn't EBT, but as I haven't been there, I don't really know... Compositionally I think this could be a little stronger. Since the primary subject is the steam engine, I would try holding the camera a little lower to the ground, possibly framing the shot with the outer rails on the two tracks. A shallower depth of field might also help put a dramatic emphasis on the engine. Overall a nice shot. |

The Modern Dinerby melismaticaComment: It looks to me like this might be a train car, but the composition doesn't work well imho. My eyes are drawn to the building with the "open" sign, but that is clearly not the selling point of this image. I think a different angle on the diner (to the left, showing about the same amount of train car (if thats what it in fact is) and less of the building structure might work. |

Mobile Cityby ImagineerComment: The highlites look blown out to me. While this was probably intentional, it's distracting to my eye. I do like the motion blur however. If it was a compromise of exposure (slow shutter speed to blur motion in bright daylight) a neutral density filter might have helped. |

Riding the evening trainby peeteComment: Nice shot, I might suggest cloning out the green sign on the left, but it doesn't detract from this. The leading lines work nicely with the slightly off center composition |

capitol-fountain.jpgby richComment: Great shot Rich, that blue sky is fantastic! I like the contrast with the Capitol building as well. |

Team playersby neehaiComment: Interesting political perspective. I'm not sure how the spring fits in, but the dice is a nice touch with the irony in the message. |
