light cascade by mitalapoComment: Impressive architecture, great framing and use of the human figures to illustrate scale. Not necessarily moving though, or perhaps it would if seen printed large format. Very good, competent work, |

Authorityby dtallaksonComment: Certainly imposing and well framed for effect, and it certainly speaks authority to me. Perhaps it doesn't move me over a certain point, perhaps slightly intimidates me. |

Family Mausoleumby nstevens85Comment: It took me one week to notice.. hemm.. but yes, I see what's really moving and, as a dad, I am darn moved..9
Ok, on second thought, you got me.
Père Lachaise, grandeur and Jim Morrison, de rigueur Marx tomb and illustruous neighbours in Highgate, countless Mother Maries in countless non-descript countryside graveyards visited on a whim.
Nothing of that obligatory routine ever moved me.
But my eye always falls there, looks for them. Sometimes an angel, sculpted toys, sometimes only a plain slab of stone. Ebenezer Scrooge's worst dream comes true, and there is no way back.
10, just because it doesn't go to 11. |

Pa. Farm Show Arena - Piety and Prideby LoViComment: I like the concept and the choice of structure. Processing detracts a bit from this. I am not a fan of sharpness as a rule of life, but I feel more detail would have suited the image better, particularly for those not familiar with farm shows. 6 |

Confusionby cabaComment: I thought I would see this building again :)
Wonderful, I very much like the folds and hdr, if that's what it is, works really well here. |

Departed Hopes by gyabanComment: Excellent choice of perspective, infinite ascension and sucked in by the blue sky itself.
I like how the image illustrates the effect of progressive desaturation due to the angle of incidence of light. 8 |

Bad receptionby snafflesComment: A frowning house :) Excellent use of perspective and extra kudos for doing this without relying on ominious lighting or BW processing. A nice sunny day and still a feel of not being welcome.. 8 |

GRACEby PennyStreetComment: Good job. A pretty armonious ascension and very graphical. My only quibble, and here I am being completely honest and an horrible nitpicker, is that, while I found the wave like vertical vertigo impressive and so moving, I don't necessarily find it graceful. It could also be graceful, but that's really not the main feeling, and this was actually my first impression when seeing the photograph. Then, composition, choice of light and cloudscape, DOF and BW all are competent and excellent. The idea of using the writing is brilliant.. Mmmm.. 9 |

ecstasyby posthumousComment: Heheheh, a different view, people emoted by the surrounding architecture. The more I look at it, the more I feel the impulse to laugh out loud. I secretely hope to find out she was talking about the refurbishment of the chapel, rather than the refurbishment of her soul.
After looking at it for a while, I feel a tigher crop to exclude the left and top spotlights would have been quite effective. But I perhaps can guess why you went for a wider framing. 8 - No, bumped to 9 |
