Intriguing..
The title reminds me a lot of some of De Moraes' song titles
Mainly of 'Portrait of absence', or simply 'Absence'

Sorry for the atrocious translation and if this sounds like not having anything to do with the image and those which it portrays :D
But that's what it makes me think of, without a context.

Yep, it takes prominence away from the shirt and let the arms being the fist point of interest, leading the viewer to the other focus points in the image. I feel it's definitely an improvement.

Love Reflected

If I understand the intent, a different lighting showing off the glass reflections and transparency, possibly a less opaque type of glass and a perfect reflection, would have turned this into a very high scoring image.
This way probably not.
Along with many very good instructionals online , many say this book is the bible of tricky materials studio photography: Light: Science and Magic: An Introduction to Photographic Lighting, if that can help.

Unless I completely missed your intent and the above remarks are well meant but completely irrelevant, of course.
