Beautiful Povertyby TomComment: Nice composition and message, but it is not really a studio portrait. |

Lisaby NodeComment: The lighting and focus on your subject is really good, but the background fence is a bit of a distraction. The crop used, head only, does not lend to a portrait feeling which might hurt you for this challenge. So, another approach might be a more shallow depth of field. to better blur the background, and a crop to include more shoulders and torso. |

Blue Eyes Smilingby howzitComment: The focus here is great, but the light is harsh kinda like you used a direct flash. Not sure what your set up is, but a warmer light would have helped this look less like a snap shot. |

Soft Light Portraitureby chaliceComment: Nice lighting and composition, but the focus in the face area is not a sharp as it is on the statue and arms area. So, either a greater dof or a different focal point might work better for this shot. |

Indyby sherComment: Oh, poor poo poo, I am sure she is somewhere running and playing again with many of the four legged friends she has met over the years. It will be tougher for the ones she left behind. I know what you are going through, I took two days off work when I lost my last dog. Stay strong.
P.S. This is a great photo of her. Message edited by author 2006-04-23 15:49:20. |

Youthful exuberanceby StagoleeComment: The composition here is very nice, but I think the white balance is off. You have a color cast on your image that is muting the colors in your pic.
Take that back, maybe it is some sort of warming filter that you used that is creating the tones. I think it is ok after all. |
