I expected the flower to be overdone in this challenge, but this one is a bit different than the typical shot, which is nice. I like the color and texture of the empty space at the top, I think it compliments the flower nicely. There seems to be a bit of area on the flower where the light is a bit harsh, making it lose it's color, but otherwise very nicely done.

The Beginning

I think when first looking at this photo, it portrays hope to me more than love... looks like a person praying. But I'm guessing that the hands belong to two different people, and you're portraying the beginning of a romance (hence the title)? If that is the case, perhaps a bit of editing would help to bring out the slightly different skin tones of these two hands, to show that it is indeed two different people.

Larva Lamp in a Cold Climate

I'll admit, I'm a bit confused by this one. I'm not sure how it relates to the challenge, and the title isn't helping much. I don't really see a connection between the plant and the lava lamp, and I don't understand why you called it a larva lamp. Anyway, all that being said, I kinda like this as an abstract shot. It has a neat green glow to it, and I like the little blobs sticking out of the bottom... the one reminds me of a snail. Hope something in all that ramble was helpful :)

Personally, I'm not a fan of photos of monkeys and any of those other critters in the monkey family. But, this one clearly depicts the challenge goal, and has a nice range of tones in it.

This might have made more of an impact if less of the words were hightlighted. You've used the shallow dof and lighting to key in on the important phrase very nicely, but it's hard to resist the urge to try to read all of the highlighted text.

Interesting shot and lighting, though it feels more like a daytime shot which was edited to have the night feeling since it has such a bright edge on the footprints. I like the diagonal composition and how you got whole footprints in there instead of cutting one off. One of those shots in the challenge that definately needs the title for me to make the connection to love.

Nice vibrant complimentary colors, but parts of the yellow look blown out. Not sure that this photo depicts love to me without the use of the title.

A bit static with the centered composition for me, but I do like the angle and the sand texture. Interesting border with the slight variation in color and the shadow.

Not quite fond of the choo-choo train kid setup here, but it's an interesting composition and keeps me looking around at the different cars/critters. Nice surface to place it on and good vibrant colors, but the purple backdrop seems like it's set up kind of crooked?

A boy's best friend

The expression on the pooch is just adorable, but it looks like you caught the boy at an awkward moment. Great close up shot of the two... you can definately feel the love :)
