Lovely image, conveys emotion nicely. Though I wish it was a little brighter on the face. Not sure if this was a shoot or a candid, but if I had my way I think I'd have his face in the light where the hand is and have his back and the and in the shadows so as to make the hand secondary to the child. As it is now the hand is very overpowering in the image.

Great focus. He seems like he's conentrating on something... and it's a great almost stoic pose. Like emulating an eagle but he's just a little thing.

I like this and I can't put my finger on why. These guys just seem mischevious or fun (neither word is right for what I'm looking for, oh well), esp the one leaning with the toothpick. I keep trying to figure out the context and what is hanging behind them. I guess that's what I like about it, I'm wondering the story.

Great candid! Love the crisp line of light around him! The tones and contrast are great. Only improvement I guess would be that I'd like to see more of his face.

You cannot take a portrait of a garage. Put a person in there and it would be an interesting shot. The shadows are great though I think it could use a bit more post processing to make it less washed out looking around the sky.

Very cute! Love the natural expression. Angle is a bit too much for me though, I keep tilting my head. I like it, just perhaps a little less. It gives a fun carefree feel.

This would be a nice portrait without the other set of eyes. What is the purpose and what is is suppose to say about her? For me it says nothing. Perhaps if the eyes were done better and there was a bit of context... like for example... She is a girl that got made fun of for having glasses, so perhaps she is looking at her glasses and thinking of her herself as this "four eyed girl", possibly have an out of focus group of peers in the back as the "bullies".

The dof is nice, the skin tones could use some tweaking.

I know portraits can be of animals too but there is nothing really engaging her or "portrait" like. To me it takes a bit of an emotive quality or a bit of personification to pull of an animal portrait.

I think since neither face is that visible a further away crop would have served this image well, depending on the surroundings. To me it would have worked better as more of a figure portrait as opposed to this close up.

Way too dark, the way her hair blends in with the background it makes her look bald... which could have worked to your advantage with a bit of creative cropping, but when you know she has hair it just looks really odd. The expression is engaging though I wish her arm wasn't so prominant in the shot. The border is unecessary.
