Bike Painted Blueby echo68phComment: DNMC--IMO a still life needs to have more than one object.
I like the shadows and highlights. |

devils appleby EmyloyComment: DNMC--A still life to me is about the set up and lighting, and both are lacking in this shot, IMO.
The fruit does not stand out from the rest of the shot, and I think a different time of day would have helped with the lighting. |

Hold It Still!by sea2cComment: DNMC-no use of arranged inanimate objects.
Interesting find. I think cropping off the top of the rocks would help. The lighting seems a little harsh to me. |

Photos closer to the 640 size limit usually score better than smaller images. It also might help to put your subject off center. |

two poniesby DonaldComment: While you placed the ponies in the shot, it just does not come across to me as an artistic arrangement with lighting used to create a mood. I do not care for the composition, the lighting seems harsh, and I would prefer sharper focus. |

(Almost) Still Lifeby djfloComment: DNMC-no use of arranged inanimate objects.
I like the texture of the snail, but feel the focus could be sharper. The lighting seems to have been too strong on the shell. |

This shot does not hold my interest. Perhaps more of the lobster could be included. |

I would have cropped most of the sky or the grass out, moving the horizon line away from the center, and straightened out the horizon line. I like the placement of the fisherman. |
