The Rural Lifeby CzechManComment: This is just so inviting isn't it. I just want to go there and feel that atmosphere. You've posed and captured this really well. I've only just noticed the powerlines, they're insignificant because the image is so strong. If it's not scoring as well as you expected, I could only think that if there was less at the top and more at the bottom that it might put the house on the bottom-left thirds intersection and have even more impact than now. I can't remember if we can clone out stuff like the power lines in Advanced editing but it would be easy to do for a display print - which it is worthy of |

Country Amigosby mysticredComment: Wow, this is a great setting - the trees, the coloured covers and particularly the warmth of the shelter colour. I don't think it's scoring well and that would be just a matter of composition. The gate is a huge distraction. I now you can't pose horses and stuff but the potential is so high for a strong shot here, lets just fantasise for a minute. To score well you need more than just a snapshot, you need to identify the 'hero' subject and then place it in the frame and work around the best resulting composition. The hero here is probably the group of amigos so you need to get them on a thirds line or intersection without the gate. The highish angle you've taken from diminishes the horses instead of features them ... so there's lots of stuff would make a difference. I'll be interested to follow up when voting is done. |

Abundanceby rscorpComment: Such a remarkable setting, wow. If it's scoring lower than you thought, I suspect it's because the real drama area of the capture isn't featured in the composition. It feels as igf there's too much foreground. There's nothing in that foreground and its dominance takes away from the best parts of the picture. Try this, crop the bottom off up to the light ground just below the bottom hay .... does it look better and more dramatic or not? |

Jumped into the Country Lifeby StructorComment: Fantastic setting, light and composure. I keep wanting to see it without him but if he wasn't there it would just be a landscape and not 'life'. His jump does bother me but not hugely, just thought I'd let you know though. Man that's a great scene... |

Old bottlesby YoungerComment: Lovely subject and interestingly presented but they could be in the city as well. I think you needed to show them in a country context as well to make sure they got the score they deserve |

The Last Stretch of Dayby liebeComment: This has a beautiful feel to it but I'm wondering if perhaps you've over-used the burn tool because it appears detectable. |

"Oliver"by blancericComment: Interesting subject but the work around the sky is visible. Also, I'm not sure that the way your mon has been done works, it looks a little weird but I'm not sure how you've done it so can't be helpful with any suggestions right now. |
