Born to be Wildby StopDownComment: The composition has good potential, but would make a little more sense if the camera was a little higher. It kind of gives the impression of the viewer having just been run over by the biker in the shot as it is now. Seeing the sole of someones shoe gives the psychological image of being trampled underfoot, you get me? And maybe the depth of field could have pulled the viewers focus down to the boot rather than the petrol tank in the centre. Look at the writing on the boot and tank to see what I mean. And a tiny point lastly, but would a battered 10 year old scruffy pair of boots fitted the title a bit more? |

At the End of the dayby shangri_La_gypsyComment: The DOF is so powerful here picking out the zip at the heel that I don't know why you tried to force the "end of day" idea. This way, without the title you have a bit more trouble figuring what's going on in the picture. A protrait shot standing up would have been better I think instead. Tilt your head to the right and see. |

OLD BUCKLE CLOGSby POLOComment: Good detail, nice textures, sharp focus, good composition. Only problem is if you didn't know scholl was a brand of footwear the meaning of the picture is completely lost. |

My first Pumaby marvinComment: The whole picture has a slight blue hue. Maybe the WB needs to be adjusted. Sweet idea though, very cute. And nicely placed in the frame. |

Ripe for the Pickingby madhatterComment: Technically a lovely shot. Vivid colours in the leaves, I like the way the sunlight catches the soles of the trainers. You could have lost the tree in the bottom right also. But however, the concept of a pair of shoes dangling from a tree is kind of bizarre though. If you were going to see shoes dangling fom anything you would expect them to be hanging from a telephone line. |

Mountain Bikingby magnusComment: Great action shot. The long exposure works really well. Good composition too, just enough of the bike in the frame. Good depth of field too |

Kick It!by CutterComment: A nice shot, good contrast, and captures the action well. Not sure about the crop. It's too tight to capture the whole picture for a sports shot, and it's too loose to really focus on the shoes, which is suppossed to be the theme. The right leg, the board and the arm would have been enough. Less is more |

Wornby GabrielComment: Seems a tiny bit underexposed. And the crop at the right seems to unbalance the picture. |

...dolls need new shoes too !by stphqComment: Very dinky, nice take on the theme. The wood finish could have been better with something like white plastic to continue the doll theme. I'm undecided about the skewed horizon. It seems to add action to the shot where it's not necessary. The scale is kind of difficult to determine, maybe something else in shot to relate the shoes to. |
