Unfortunately, you're probably right about getting slammed for lack of natural enviroment. But I think there would be some that realize these guys are free to go wherever they please. They would also see the humor in this photo and vote strictly on the merit of the photo. I do actually like this one better than your actual entry(deer too much in shadow). I would probably have voted 5 or 6 because of the tilted horizon, ofcourse I realize you probably haven't done any processing with this one. Would also be worth another point or so if the deer all had the same lighting as the middle one.

I know, a bit of a ramble, but I liked the photo so you get my 2 cents plus some:)

Great photograph. The exposure is perfect, probably a challenge to nail with the bright lights of the hall. I like how this photo leads you through it, and the person standing at the end is a very nice detail.

Very graceful photo of this bird in flight, the wings just skimming the water really add to this. My two cents would be to crop out the land at the top. Very good photograph as is though.
