Candle's Messiahby theSajComment: First, great pun/play on words. Just a week early I guess. This image would have had more impact for me if there was just a touch of ambient lighting in the area surrounding the cross. Seems like this would have brought the overall tone of the picture a little which would make it stronger IMO. Maybe the same shot when late evening.
LIke the composition and theme. |

Forest Spiritsby DrAchooComment: Didn't vote in this challenge but I think this shot was creative, well executed, and without your explanation of 2xRAW conversion would leave me wondering how you held the detail in the hilight areas and the shadows. The green foliage is a perfect complement to the warm tones in the bagged candles. If there is one suggestion I would make it would be to have placed another semi-obscured bag deeper into the BG to enhance the feeling of wanting to follow the lights to their begining.
Remember only you can prevent forest fires. |

Extinguishing by soupComment: Congrats,
I only voted on one image in this challenge, yours. Started to browse thumbs one day and this one caught my eye, gave it a nine and never had time to go back and vote for all of the others. Gave it a 9 and its cool to see it in blue. (good choice of color, haha)

evie_W_CRW_5590-copy.jpgby Prof_FateComment: This picture makes me feel cold, seeing her expression and the coldness on her face. Good job making the viewer feel the freeze. I think I would prefer a slightly offcenter position but thats jmo. |

Going Outby mandyturnerComment: Another recent challenge, wasn't a member yet so didnt' vote on this one, but, I really think it should have placed a higher than it did. My main comment is the frames, have a pretty distinct contrast between them which keeps them from flowing from L to R and makes my eyes bounce around. and I keep trying to line up the eye with the picture on the right like I'm trying to see a complete face. Maybe putting the hair pic in the middle would have helped. |

I've been everywhere....by mandyturnerComment: Wanted to comment on one of your pics. Figured maybe one from a recent challenge would be helpful. (BTW your Freestudy IX is very good, couldn't find any real criticism/help to offer)
I gave this a 5 while voting mainly because it had several items, all competing for my attention. It seems a little unbalanced with the stacking of the glasses on LH side. Maybe more of a panoramic side by side treatment would have worked? I think a different color BG would have helped, Darker in my opinion. So, thats my two cents. Thanks for your comments on my hi key post. |
