Ok, I get it now. I thought this was a cool shot during the challenge. I am much like you and have abstract ideas that people look at and wonder how the heck I got there. Seeing what you were thinking I love the shot even more. Excellent night work, I don't think people know how hard night shots can be. I love that the subject fills the frame from head to tail, your cropping is prefect. This is really a cool shot, it just might have grabbed more attention in a different category. |

Is anyone looking?by marvinComment: *Critique Club*
I remember seeing this shot and thinking it would have scored higher, especially since everyone else had some cards up their sleeves. I really can't believe the final average score was less then a 5. I like that you chose to de-saturate as opposed to just going black and white, it gives the shot a little more character in my opinion. I also really like how you filled the entire frame. I think the facial expression is very prefect for the Cheater challenge. It would probably been hard for the model to bring the other eyebrow a little lower because of her high brows. I give her and you credit for letting you get so close. On my screen I see something on her nose, possibly an eyelash it just looks a little of in a close up like this. I think this is a very good piece, I just think voters are just wanting to see more of the actual cheating taking place. |

Steroids do not lead to successby RikkiComment: *Critique Club*
Personally I think "Steroids do not lead to success" is a prefect entry for the Cheater! challenge. I would say the voters agree as well, I thought it would have been top 10 but hey 11 is pretty darn decent. What I think grabs my attention the most is the drip on the needle, awesome choice using green. The green is such a great contrast with the background and liquid in the needle, plus who wants something green injected into them. The shallow depth of field give a different perspective that really allows the voter to see what the subject is. Also normally I am not a fan of adding a border but I do think you made the right decision in using one. I can't think of anything I would change. Keep up the awesome work!
