"Life Without a Chance" is a very good idea. I looked at your comments to see this was your first submission, which is itself is a huge accomplishment. In my opinion, it really does get easier. The more you are forced to think about a challenge and what you could possible come up with and then capture it you will see yourself grow.

The concept is really good. Technically there are a few things I would change or experiment with. I think since we are looking at the Odd Couple maybe the snow and one flower. I understand your subject based on your title is not specifically flower and snow but I think single the image down would create a greater focus. The second thing I would work on is the lighting. I would guess you used the flash, you might try to incorporate other lights. Even an extra light here and there will help the balance and prevent bright objects like sky, snow, sun and more from been blown out. Since the snow is blown out almost at the center of the image it really takes away from the impact of your great subject. We even lose the key petal that is touching the snow. I think you had a tough shot to capture but a great idea.

I would defiantly keep submitting, you have some great ideas and great potential. Best of luck!

"Gris" is a lovely portrait done in Duotones and meets the challenge. I think the challenge become extremely hard when we have 600+ entries, especially because I think voters do get burned out or they only vote on the 20% they like. Taking all that is consideration I am really glad to see you were in the top 30%.

The image is is very nice and clean. I think the most appealing attribute is the eyes, I am sure it is just my preceptive but that is what captured my attention. The light being captured by her eyes is almost enchanting. The lighting you used is wonderful. The light across the face accents just prefectly without createing any harsh sahdows. Also I think your lighting displays itself in the highlights it is able to pick up out of her hair. The focus is very nice. I really don't see anything I would change or even want to try. I personally would be extremely proud of this image.

"Strolling in the park" is a very nice addition into the Duotones challenge. Interesting choice to go with the gray scale, I would be curious to see it in sepia it give is a warmer feel.

The overall image is nice. The subject itself is different from the run of the mill park. With the curving path and the two people showing how massive the trees and the world around us is, gives a wonderful subject. I wish the contrast had been turned up so there was more definition between the trees, the leaves and the path. I love the overall image. I personally would have gone with a black border because the gray almost brings out the flatness from lack of contrast or try it without a border at all. Looking at your profile, I really wonder if you wanted the image to be soft like it is. But of course photography is a form of art which in the end is seen different by the artists and the audience. I really love the heath, keep up the good work.

"Blue Bella" is nice entry into the Duotone challenge. I remember this shot because I have personally wanted to go to the Bellagio for so long. I really like your choice of blue, it seems very appropriate for the subject. The other color options would probably have the image with a very different and not as appealing feel.

The photograph itself is overall appealing. Very nice time of day to take the shot. The lighting on the building is accenting the structure very nicely. The light at the top of the tower looks a little bit over blown. Also the sky looks very processed, I am not sure if it is the time lapse or just the editing. Its not too distracting at first glance, but when you spend some time with the image it starts to pop out. Overall the image is still nice and I could see it making a nice postcard. Keep up the good work.

My favorite.." is prefect entry into the Duotones challenge. My first impression of the image is that I really like it, much like some of the other voters out there. Not a bad placement in such a huge challenge. It really can be intimidating when you see over 600 entries, but you held your own.

The image itself is striking because the perspective is different and just grabs your attention. The composition is just lovely. Nice choice of tones, I think black and white would have made the image very cold and sterile. I think technically this is a great shot to have taken. The DOF immediately give the viewer an idea that hey this is a common item from my perspective, which is what a good photo should say. I really don't see anything I would do differently. Good work and I look forward to seeing your future pieces.

Wow this is interesting. I think black and white allows for good focus on the words.
