I liked your entry (have it 6 & you're right, would never guessed it was yours). However, I would have tossed up between a 7 or 8 for this, but then again I'm partial towards B&W, especially when done well.

At first I thought this was somehow a water reflection but it didn't quite make sense. Either way it really got my attention and was quite appealing to me. I gave this an 8 and a little surprised it finished as low as it did. Well done!

Well done on a top finish! I'm not surprised to see this do so well. I am surprised how many comments you got on the border though. I wonder if that's a record?

Congratulations Anthony on a much deserved win and on your first Blue!

Thanks for the feedback (got the exposure right at least). Perhaps if I got rid of my old Rebel and kit lens I might also produce shots like this. Nah, I think skill plays into it more. Once again, well done!

I do enjoy a nice sharp macro. However, I also enjoy a beautiful photo that captures a story, emotion and especially in this case, great colours (amongst other things). The spider husks were a great find and you shot them, not in a documentary style, but artistically. I gave this a seven and felt it should have been in the top 30.

Well, I thought it was great! Different for this challenge (though done before) but what I really liked was the colourful (correct spellying for you Yanks) bokeh that you achieved. At first I thought the focal points may have been a bit off with the SDoF but after a longer review I felt it was just about right. Anyway, you got an 8 from me, and a bit of a surprised look for not finishing higher.

BTW, would never had guessed this was yours.

Congratulations on such a well deserved win! I was one of your 8's and would have probably voted higher if I had studied this shot as much as I have now. This is truely a lovely photo.

I couldn't remember why your profile name was so familiar to me until I remembered that you were the first person to ever give me a comment on one of my photos, which encouraged me to start entering challenges - so thanks!

I'm guessing FocusPoint and Sox?

Yes, this shot is awsome (if you don't say so yourself). It's a pity about the flash glare - or is that just the overhead light bouncing of your head
;-)

A couple of questions if I may. Is that a left handed camera? Oh, yeh, image "validated" so it really is your reflection. Couldn't you have repositioned yourself and your cat to remove the door an put youself in more light? It's not as if this sort of shot is hard to get? (JK)

I originally gave this an 8 and was tossing up whether to bump to 10 to acknowledge such photographer awsomeness or to slash it to 4 because of the OOF upper eyelid - so it stays at 8. Cheers.

This is a great find and well shot. I particularly like the similar colours of the sky with the crane and how it's softness contrast nicely with the sharpness of your subject. The bridge and city in the background adds extra interest to your shot.

A couple of things that don't quite work for me is the over brightness of the lights and that they are also not very sharp (did you use a sturdy tripod and locked your camera mirror?). The shadows around the crane are a little distracting but you may not have had any control over that. I wonder if getting in closer and down lower (shooting up the crane with more sky) may have been worth a try?

I do like this and gave it an 8.

I really like the single colour this shot represents. However, it's the lighting and DoF that (as well as originality) that sets this above most other's in this challenge.

I'm not sure how I feel about the border. It basically works because the mirrored parts are already OOF except for the LHS tensioning knob that has been split into distinct banding, which creates an unwanted distraction for me. Overall, I really like this and it got an 8 from me.
