Black Beautyby jomariComment: A nice enough picture of a horse. There does appear to be some strange artefacts around the horse's chin and body (perhaps from masking). I don't know if you added the forehead marking or it was found like that but it is a nice connection to the books character. 5. |

A Clockwork Orangeby emoonsComment: This image does bring a smile to my face. The shadow at the top looks more like a rotten section of orange so is a little distracting but I do like the awkward composition. 7. |

Call of the Wild by BarbBComment: This in a nice enough image of a lizard but I feel there is a bit of a stretch to connect with a book about sled dogs. 4 |

Blindness - José Saramagoby Alex_PetriniComment: This image is amazing. I really like the B&W conversion, DoF and lighting. Those eyes are great an I particularly like the inclusion of rain. 9 |

Keep the aspidistra flying - George Orwell (1936)by hajekaComment: I can't really comment on the connection with the novel as I'm not familiar with it. I do see a connection with the Aspidistra plant though. As far as the image it is something that I like. Such as the black background, good lighting and effective use of a shallow depth of field. 6 |

Lord of the Fliesby posthumousComment: There is much to like here for me. I appreciate the technicals of nice bokeh, the duotone processing and lighting. I particularly like the subtle connections you have made to the book. The boy is blended as one with the forest but looks out of place. He has basic weapons and is looking behind in fear for the aggressive tribe of kids. At least this is what I feel from this image. 8 |

On Golden Pondby dtremainComment: This image is nice with pleasant colours and good framing. I feel it would be better to clone out those sensor dusts as they do distract from the image. I do particularly like the contrast of the dead tree though. 5 |
