Astral reflectionby LalliSigComment: This is as stunning shot. The depth and vibrancy of the colors is amazing. It has a solid composition, with objects of interest in both the fore and backgrounds, and is well balanced. To really kick it over the top, you've captured Orion right next to the lights, which helps ground the image and increase its appeal even more. This is one of those shots that deserves about a twelve, if the scale went that high. 10 |

beconing skiesby drueovComment: I think "Beconing" is really spelled "Beckoning". But a very nice shot, great detail in the rocks and water, and the capture of the light rays in the background adds interest there too and deepens the image. Very well done. 8 |

Just Call Me Timby taterbugComment: I've got no idea what the title has to do with anything, but I like it - gives a real sense of humor to the shot, which is strong and could easily stand on it's own, too. Would be nice if just a bit more of the skull were in sharp focus. |

The Blue Boatby chaliceComment: The city in the background really adds the final punch to this shot, as the boat looks like it belongs in a small coastal town, but there it is among all the yachts and the skyscrapers, creating a great diachotomy. Also lovely colors and exposure, composition, etc - all the technical aspects spot on. 10 |

Stillnessby bucketComment: A bit too intense around the sun, but overall very good. There are several things that really make me like this. First is the leading lines in the fields and how they are oriented toward the barn. The second is the light that can be seen coming through the barn doors, and finally, the low clouds and snow, which break up the darkness just right. Well done! 8 |

Togetherby maximComment: It took me a moment to figure out what this was, but once I did, I was very impressed, and sat looking at it for a while. It's subtle, but very emotive, and has a whole range of feelings associated with it. Very well done, wonderful lighting and composition. I fear this will not do as well as it deserves, but know that you succeeded. |

fiveby idpComment: I wasn't sure I liked this at first, but the more I studied it, the more I did. Partly it's the color contrasts, the red lips, the hat, and the way the gold just jumps out at you. And partly it's the pose and the use of a model to show the rings, and the fact that they are a varied selection of rings. Well done. |

French Hens 3 - Frenchmen 2by jjbeguinComment: A great shot, and interesting to study. More photojournalistic or environmental portrait in style, but it meets the challenge very well, with an unique vision. You put the motion blur to great use, very artfully done. |
