Burundian bride by lei_73Comment: You did your research!! Taking a portrait in those days was a big thing. People made sure they looked their best, dressing for the occasion. Your submission totally shows that and the execution was just perfect in my view. |

Wave Theory of Lightby DistantColoursComment: Wonderful light. Great spectrum of colors above the wave. In addition, the power of the wave itself also matches the challenge theme. |

Defying the laws of gravity by Alex_PetriniComment: What a great idea for this challenge. Great execution as well, nice use of depth of field, feels like he is floating mid air, like an astronaut in space. |

Three Windows, Two Bikesby namComment: Wow, that's quite some processing done, from a dull average image to an attractive image you can hang on the wall. Great job. (and about the kickstand shadow: it should run 45 degrees up and to the left to make it look real, to the point where the shadow of the middle of the bike is, because that is where it is attached ;-) ) |

After The Elusive Pheasant by westfordComment: I am a bit in doubt how to rate this (might come back and adjust later). It certainly has an "old" feel to it, good style of clothing and props. I think the light is rather flat, could have been more appealing with some more use of shadow for example in the face. Also the "old" feel is largely caused by the vignetting and border, which as far as I could see is not typical of the woodbury style. In the woodbury examples I think the darker edges are usually created by the distribution of light on the background. |

Burundian bride by lei_73Comment: Absolutely stunning. Beautiful lady and beautiful image. Great serene atmosphere. I love the soft mid tones and how the skin tones and the background match, while you also kept all the detail in both the black hair and the white dress. I now rated and commented the full challenge and for me this is the winner. |
