Looks cheesy, as well as blurry.

unintersting subject, poor focus, poor tie to the challlenge. You should have tried something completely different. 1

Very interesting. The different coloring of the bottom middle section seems to throw it off. If that part had the brown bars like the upper portion I think the shot would be a lot stronger, by retaining it's strong lines.

Your photo quality here has suffered a lot. Everything has an outline of distortion on it that greatly distracts from the image. It looks like this shot is only 18k in size, so I'd definately recommend using a lot more of the available 150k by saving at a higher quality level. The overall image is pretty good. I like the silhoutte(sp?) idea, but I think the resulting shot is somewhat uninteresting. Perhaps if the "mountains" were on more of a grand scale it would add to the impact, as presently it looks like that person has a pretty simple and uneventful hike in front of him.

At first I looked at this and thought "yep, forcing a pic into a challenge topic." and sighed to myself. Then about 5 seconds later I thought "nope, I was completely wrong." This shot does a great job of representing the future because it draws your eyes off into the distance right up to the point that you can no longer make up the tracks. It leaves you wondering what is up ahead. It carries with it not only a sense of distance or scenery, but I think it does a pretty good job of expressing time as well.
The colorful pebbles in the foreground add to the appeal of the shot. Given that the shot is so focused on symetry for effect, the difference in the space that the trees and greenery fill in on each side is something to consider. I wouldn't say for sure that it poses a problem, but it does seem to draw attention to itself and I don't think that helps.
Nice work.

I saw this in the forum and I had to stop by and comment because it's such a wonderful shot. To be honest, I cringed when everyone started up loading pictures of their kids in that thread.. sentimenal kid pics are very far from being a personal favorite. However, this shot grabbed my attention and I was very, very impressed. Everything here is captured so well. A wonderful child no doubt, but a wonderful photo to match. = )

I'd just like to second my original request that you might upload the pre-filter version of this shot. I have such mixed feelings about this shot and I'd really be interested in seeing whether I like it better without the filter or whether I'm wrong on that.

it's not as interesting as a real human figure.. and the image quality seems rather low here, but I like how the tones flow into the background.

The scar draws attention to itself, but I don't get the impression that it's supposed to be an important part of the shot. The item at the bottom right is distracting as well and some better lighting might have made this more interesting. I like the idea for the shot though, and I think the crop works well.

I enjoy abstract shots and I like this one. I think it might have been interesting to have the hair in a sharper focus or to have more dramatic lighting on it, but it is effective as it is as well. The crop is great and I love the flow of the hair. The tone you chose works very well as well.
