7 - Nice image, good idea. Like the concept. Good idea for contrast as well. Like to have seen the focus sharpest on the leaf, to see the detail - seems to be stronger on the bottle, but hard to discern at this size. Perhaps the detail is there 'bigger' - apologies in advance if wrong. The shadows/light play add a nice extra element too.

6 - Nice image. Wish I could see more snow/it wasn't so high key (for this Challenge). Nice capture of the bird and it's feathers. I like the frame.

Nice image, but I am not getting a strong sense of contrast for this Challenge (which the fog, although a nice effect, seems not to be helping), my interpretation anyway. Up to 6 from 5, like this, just the few things mentioned above for this Challenge. To 'nit-pick', wish the lights to the left of the left tree were 'gone' or dimmer and the second lamp was not missing (but what can you do).

8 - Wow, excellent use of contrast all through the image. Looks like a beast arising from the sea. Really like the shoreline. Tones are very nice. Good qualities in this image make me almost not notice (or care) the horizon (just a personal thing). Guessing the gradient upper right is color in the sky.

"i wonder how it died" - indeed. Interesting (and good, albeit strange) image.

8 - Nice use of contrast. Interesting use of fisheye lens (presumption), unique image. Must of been difficult to crop, like your choice.

The hair contrasts well against the high key, which without the high key effect might not be so dominant. As the viewer, I find the pose somewhat 'unsettling', but, of course, as the photographer, it is your call and choice.

This looks like it may be a mimosa flower, aka Silk Tree (Albizia julibrissin). Although you mention a red flower and the mimosa/silk tree has pink flowers. More info here (Dave's Garden) and here(National Park Service) and here (Duke University) and here (Garden Bits).

They have lovely flowers, which are difficult to photograph because of their delicacy - a still day, fast shutter speed and/or tripod may help you.
