Hannah smiledby sherComment: I really like the composition of this photo, but the face seems to lack detail in the highlights. |

Dr. McGillicuddyby ShermyComment: I really like the subject and composition of this photo. The shallow DOF really helps him stand out from his background, but the overall lighting is a bit too dull/dark for my taste. |

Dog Walkby jaysonmcComment: Wow! This is definitely a beautiful photo. One that my wife would love to have in her scrapbook if it was her. Unfortunately, I can't see too many people here on DPC rating it extremely high because, although the photo quality is superb, the subject does not capture the audience as you would probably like it too. Still though, I give it a 9. |

Tuscan Smokerby Dr.ConfuserComment: Wow! I have no chance in this challenge. I've only looked at three photos now, and they are all far better than anything I've come up with. I could see this on the front page for sure. Nice work! |

The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System.by macrothingComment: Although I really like the compositional aspects of this photograph with the backlit grass, clear blue sky with faint, almost pastel, clouds in the distance, the sun is just too powerful. How to correct it, I don't know. Maybe the use of a graduated ND filter or something. This is not something I have attempted, and I do not believe I could come up with something even this good to begin. So, kudos to you. Nice work, just keep it up. |

Early Morning Torchlight by SimmsComment: What an inspiring photo. I never would have guessed this was done in a dining room! Excellent work. I love it! |

Tracks into the Desertby BAMartinComment: First, on the technical aspects of this photo: the use of the railroad tracks as leading lines in to the desert landscape, right to the water tower, is perfect. The inclusion of the giant saguaro cactus really adds to the impact of this shot. And the mono conversion was done very well.
Now, on another note: I really love Arizona landscapes. I grew up down there, and seeing things like this really makes me miss the area. This is a very nice photo. |
