Your choice of subject is excellent for this challenge. The mono conversion was done well. The composition is a little off, with the horizon in the middle of the photo. You should try it next time with the horizon on the lower third line. The image looks a little soft overall all too, which should be able to be fixed with USM.

Very nice macro shot. The black and white tones are good, and I'm sure they help out to keep focus on the brush, instead of the possible varying colors of the other items. The lighting is a bit harsh, as is shown in the highlighton the brush and the focus/DOF could be changed a bit to keep the entire brush in focus as well.

Very nice composition and subject. I like the thought you put in to this with the photo paper and design. My two complaints: the focus should be at the front of the makeup and the blown out highlights are extremely distracting.

Great limited DOF to isolate the lady bugs and the background. However, the closer petals, or whatever they are, are a bit distracting. The lighting is great, and the color/saturation is perfect.

Nice idea and composition. The lighting is good to minimize reflections, but it appears just a tad bit too dark. Other than that, this is an excellent image.

Juggling Ideas

This is a nice idea, but the lights look like they were poorly printed, and your subject is still a bit too dark. It just needs more light in front, set up to get the low key effect.
